Mammatus
The Mammatus is a lamp and light sculpture filled with vivid detail, through which light is distributed in a unique way. The Mammatus emerged from an intense amount of material experimentation, an aspect that is central to the making process of Studio Erwin Zwiers. The layered drawings in the light panels form a three-dimensional image with an almost hypnotic quality.

The Mammatus emerged from an intense amount of material experimentation, an aspect that is central to the making process of Studio Erwin Zwiers. The layered drawings in the light panels form a three-dimensional image with an almost hypnotic quality.
The detailed drawings in the Mammatus are carefully matched to each other, making the panels a single entity and leaving them to the imagination. For this lamp, Studio Erwin Zwiers has developed a unique manual technique to create the special light effect of Mammatus. The drawings come to life, as it were, when the light is switched on whereby the amount of light can be easily adjusted with a touch dimmer.
A lamp suitable for both private and business environments such as a loft, high hall or above a table.
The Mammatus effortlessly enriches a space with its detailed drawings and unique light aura. The lamp is a direct translation of Erwin’s creative take on his surroundings; a mix of autonomous elements, natural forms and technical refinements.
